Great Lakes Lacquer August Limited Editions

*Press Sample*

Hi everyone! I recently shared Great Lakes Lacquer's very first collection with you, and today I have two new limited edition polishes that will be available in August. There are a total of 3, but I have 2 to share with you today (check out this post by Ida Nails It to see the third LE, Torch's Purple Haze). These polishes will be available starting August 1st and will remain available until the 31st. Once again, Mariah provided her inspiration for these polishes (I really love that she does that!) so that is included after each polish description.

Supermoon on Duck is a purple jelly filled with subtly color shifting shimmer (ranges from red to orange to gold) and assorted mircro flake shimmers. Formula was on the thicker side, but very easy to work with. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage (making sure to wait a bit between coats to allow it to dry a little). This polish is so glowy and fabulous! Purple lovers are going to swoon over it, I'm sure!

A day of fishing on Duck Lake last August ended in the perfect spot to witness the Supermoon while drifting in to dock.  It was so gorgeous that I went home and made polish to try to capture the beauty.  This is the result.

Kissing My Hun on Gun is a deep forest green jelly with blue sparks and a linear holo effect. Formula was very nice and smooth on this one with complete opacity in 2 easy coats. The blue sparkles are just stunning against the rich green base and the holo is more prominent in real life than in pictures (dark holos sometimes hide the flame a bit in photos, I don't know why). I'm so in love with this!

*ETA: I have seen that some other bloggers have had issues with staining but I had no problems with it when I was swatching. I used a ridge filling basecoat when I was swatching and it did not stain my nail bed or cuticles.*
I love fishing with my husband.  It’s sort of our down time together and something that we both love to do.  It’s an awesome bonding experience and keeps that connection going.  Therapy on the water has been a best practice for us for two years now.  This polish is inspired by a picture he took of us kissing while fishing.  Everything is rhyming with this one.  I profusely apologize about that.  Anyway, he posted it on Facebook, like you do with everything when you are new to Facebook and this is the description he used.

Great Lakes Lacquer is available from their Etsy shop. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram so you can keep up to date on release info. All three of the August limited edition polishes will be available on August 1. Thanks for looking everyone!
