Great Lakes Lacquer September Limited Editions

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have two gorgeous limited edition polishes that are coming in September from Great Lakes Lacquer! These will be available on August 31 at 7 PM EST and will be available during the month of September only in the Great Lakes Lacquer shop, so be sure to grab them while you can! Both of these are stunners, so you won't want to miss out!

Mother's Mauve is a purple-leaning mauve crelly filled with gold and bronze shimmer as well as scattered holo. It has a creamy consistency that is easy to work with, and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This is definitely not a dowdy mauve color, but instead the pinky purple tone is fresh and gorgeous. The shimmer is absolutely to die for, so do not miss out on this pretty! Mariah's description of this polish had me cracking up because my room was an explosion of mauve when I was a child, with a matching mauve floral comforter, canopy, and curtains (with bows, of course).
My Mom’s birthday is September.  She’s a lady with a heart of gold; one of those ladies that is a Mom to everyone.  All of my close friends have called her Mom and do to this day.  This color is a dedication to her.  In my teenage years, I remember her bedroom being an explosion in mauve.  All tones of mauve.  She tells me that it needs to lean more pink but this is the color I remember.  See?  Still Mom.

Harvest Moon 2015: Come, Reap is an orange-leaning red jelly filled with fiery shimmer and a sprinkling of scattered holo. Formula was very nice to work with and I got full coverage in 2 coats (or you could use 3 thin coats). This is a completely fabulous red and the shimmer just glows from within. This polish has a classic feel that would be nice to wear year-round.
In traditional folklore, the Harvest Moon is the one that comes closest to the autumnal equinox.  This year’s Harvest Moon lands on September 28th.  In years of old, the light of the Harvest Moon illuminated fields so that farmers could continue harvesting that year’s bounty.  It signified the reaping of hard work and a close to the growing season.  A time of celebrating and a time of reflecting on what has been sewn, it is the end of one stage in nature and the beginning of another.  For those of you who recognize the phrase in the name from a book, there will be more to come by next year’s Harvest Moon.

Great Lakes Lacquer is available from their Etsy shop. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram so you can keep up to date on release info. Both of their September limited edition polishes will be available starting on September 1. Thanks for looking everyone!
