Paint All the Nails Presents Color Block

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have a brand new edition of Paint All the Nails Presents and this month's theme was Color Block. I have always been envious of ladies who can do clean freehand lines when color blocking, but I've been too nervous to try it. I finally decided to give it a go, and it wasn't nearly as hard as I imagined! Now let's see what my inspiration was!

As I'm sure many of you have been, I've been glued to the TV watching the Summer Olympics these past few weeks. I always say I won't, but it never fails that I get sucked in an stay up until late at night to watch my favorite events. I was especially excited about the swimming and gymnastics this year, and they did not disappoint! So in honor of the Olympics, I used the Olympic flag as my color inspiration for my color block mani.
I decided instead of cremes, I would use some fun metallics for this mani, and the Pretty Serious Cosmetics Ghosts of Christmas Future Collection worked just perfectly! When doing a color block mani like this, you want to make sure that the polishes you are using have nice opacity, so using these metallics, which are mostly one-coaters, worked perfectly for this design. I just started with different base colors and then swiped on the other colors one at a time using the brush from the bottle. It was so much easier than I thought it would be to get nice even strokes and these polishes were the perfect consistency so that they were easy to control. I thought this design was fun! It sort of had a medieval feel to it after I was done, maybe? I don't know. Anyway, I was super proud of my relatively straight lines! :D

Polishes Used (from the Pretty Serious Cosmetics The Ghosts of Christmas Future Collection)
