Rogue Lacquer Spring Punk Collection

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! I'm very excited to share Rogue Lacquer's debut collection with you today! This may be a new brand, but the maker is not a new kid on the block! Rachel, formerly part of the duo behind Ever After Polish made a big move across the country this year and thus she is branching off and starting a brand new independent venture with Rogue Lacquer. Today I have the Spring Punk Collection to share with you that features 4 gorgeous polishes and 3 wax scents (available in mini loaves and bark). The Spring Punk Collection will debut tomorrow (April 15th) at 7 PM pacific time in their shop. The polishes will be available for $10 each or you can purchase the set for $38. As a special treat for the opening, the first 30 orders of $20 or more will receive a free mystery polish.

Blowing Off Steam is a blue tinged grey creme with silver flakes, blueish green shimmer, and scattered holo. Formula was very smooth and easy to apply and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This finish is really beautiful and I adore the combo of the super metallic silver flakes and shimmer.

Grind My Gears is a metallic bronze foil filled with crimson shimmer, holo microglitter, and holo sparkle. Formula started off sheer, but built up nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. Another metallic beauty and my favorite part is the crimson flash of shimmer throughout the polish. It's a little darker in color than my swatches show (my camera freaks out with metallics sometimes and makes them look more washed out than they actually are).

Steam Punk Fantasy is a lavender holo with strong copper shimmer. Formula started off sheer, but built up nicely to opacity in 3 coats. The shimmer in this polish is divine! I love how soft and delicate this shade is.

Retro Future is a slightly dusty seafoam green creme with copper, silver, bronze, and gold ultra chrome flakes, blue shimmer, and scattered holo. Formula was very nice and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This polish is totally my style and I love everything about it! The slight dustiness of the base color has my heart (I love dusty seafoam shades).

Rachel is also introducing wax with this first release and she has some gorgeous bark and mini loaves that go along with the steampunk theme! The wax will come in the following forms (pick your scent):

Steampunk Wax Loaf (13.5-15 oz) $13.00
Gemstone Wax Loaf (13.5 - 15 oz) $13.00
4 oz Bark Bag $5
8 oz Bark Bag $8

She is introducing 3 scents to start, and I was lucky enough to get to try all of them.

Just Peachy

Scent Notes: Fresh Peach, Tangerine, Grapefruit

Throw: Strong

My Thoughts: This is a beautiful bright fruity scent. I love the mix of peach and citrus! It's definitely a scent that will take you from spring into summer.

Carnival Confection

Scent Notes: Cotton Candy, Sweet Marshmallow, with a hint of Vanilla

Throw: Medium

My Thoughts: I have melted a lot of cotton candy and marshmallow scents and I often find them very weak and non-descript on their own. I think the hint of vanilla really made this one stand out because it added a little bit of a creamy bakery note and I felt like it really enhanced the other scents. I this great on its own, but I also love to blend and it was fabulous when mixed with Just Peachy (and would be great as a blender for many fruity scents).

Private Beach

Scent Notes: Blackberry, Sand, Sea Spray, Magnolia, Jasmine, with a hint of Mandarin.

Throw: Strong

My Thoughts: I'm not a floral lover, I'll start with that. I was actually a little afraid of this scent when Rachel described it to me. BUT, I melted it and it is SUCH a winner! The combo of scents is very sexy and exotic like a lush tropical beach. I think the fruit and sea salt balance out the florals nicely.

Rogue Lacquer is available from their shop. You can also like them on Facebook and join their fan group for information on new releases and to see more swatches. Thanks for looking everyone!
